b. Sunday, June 16, 1895 – d. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1953

Our brother Thomas Alger was born in DePere in 1895.  After graduating from St. Norbert High and his sophomore year at the college, he joined the Order in 1918 and was solemnly professed in 1923.

Tom began teaching at the high school and college in 1920, and in 1924 was appointed secretary to Bernard Pennings and master of ceremonies for liturgical functions.  He remained in these positions until he was appointed pastor of St. Joseph in Oneida in 1947, where he remained until his death on Saturday, November 14, 1953.  He was 58.
