Brother James L. DeHerder, O. Praem.

b. Monday, Sept. 12, 1864 – d. Wednesday, June 8, 1960

Our brother James De Herder was born in Dinther, Holland in 1864, vested in the Order in 1896, and professed in 1898. 

In 1903 he immigrated to the United States, and served as a faithful lay brother for 44 years at the old abbey.  In 1947 he retired to the Alexian Brothers in Oshkosh, where in 1960 he celebrated 64 years in the Order.  He died Wednesday, June 8,  1960 at the age of 95.
