Our Oblate brother John Edwards was born in Uxbridge,
England
in 1938. As a registered nurse at
Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, John was also active in the
Holy Rosary Catholic Community where he was an RCIA team member, a catechetical
assistant in religious education, and played the organ for church liturgies,
in the 1980’s. .
In 1995, John became a lay Associate at Santa Maria
de la Vid Priory,
where he was receptionist, executive assistant to
the prior in development work and vocational
coordinator. On
August 28, 1998, John was professed as the first American Norbertine Oblate.
He died Monday,
March 17, 2003 at the age of 64.
