ST. NORBERT ABBEY
DE PERE, WISCONSIN, U.S.A.
Rev. Michael J. McLaughlin, O. Praem.
b. Saturday, July 24, 1920 – d. Monday, May 13, 1963

Our brother Michael McLaughlin was born in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1920.  After graduating from Archmere and a year at the college, he joined the Order - being vested in 1939, professed in 1941.  

Mike was assigned to Southeast Catholic in 1942 and taught History and National Problems.   

In preparation for ordination, he returned to the St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere, Wisconsin in 1944, and taught at St. Norbert High until being ordained in 1945.  He then returned to Southeast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

In 1949, Mike attended Catholic University, where he earned an S.T.L. in theology in 1950.  

In 1952, he was assigned to St. Norbert College, and ministered at Francis Creek and Lincoln, Wisconsin.  He was also Associate Master of professed. 

In 1955, he joined the faculty at Premontre High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  

In 1957, he was assigned to Bishop Neumann in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Mike died on Monday, May 13, 1963 at the age of 42.
