Rev. Joseph G. Regan, O. Praem.
b. Saturday, June 14, 1913 – d. Friday, Oct. 26, 1990

Our brother Joseph Regan was born in Whiting, Indiana in 1913.  After graduating from St. Norbert High and a year at Marquette University, he entered the Order in 1932 and was solemnly professed in 1937.  Having started his teaching career at Southeast Catholic in 1936, he was transferred to Central Catholic in 1941, only to return to Southeast in 1947.

In 1951, Joe reported to Fort Slocum for induction into the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Chaplain Corps, after which he was assigned to permanent duty at William Beaumont Army Hospital in El Paso, Texas. From 1952 until 1954, he saw duty in Korea.

Joe returned to the college and in 1955 became Director of Public Relations until 1958, while also functioning as pastor at Immaculate Conception in Oneida.  In 1969, he was chaplain at Christ Community Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois, while assisting at Our Lady of Loretto in Hometown.  In 1973, he was chaplain at St. Mary Hospital in Green Bay, and the following year at Our Lady of Charity Convent.

Joe became a member of “Sunshine Priory” in Clearwater, Florida in 1976, where he did pastoral ministry, as well as in Seminole.  During 1978, Joe was pastor of St. Joseph in Madison, before retiring to the priory at the college in 1979, and then to the abbey.  Joe died on Friday, October 26th, 1990, at the age of 77.
