Our brother Benedict Schevers (SKAY-vers) was born in Dinther, Holland in 1874.  He was vested in the Order in 1891 and solemnly professed in 1896, at Berne Abbey.  Benedict immigrated to the United States in 1898, and was appointed pastor in Tonet, where he stayed until 1908. 

In 1908, the Order took over the parish of St. Francis in Manistique, Michigan.  Benedict was appointed pastor and he remained there until his death on Friday, May 26, 1950 at the age of 76.
