b. Sunday, May 22, 1910 – d. Monday, Jan. 18, 1982

Our brother Marinus Verwey, canon of Berne Abbey and missionary to India from 1937 until 1947, came to the United States to solicit funds for that endeavor.  “Blitz,” as he was known, finding America to his liking, spent many years here teaching, preaching and doing pastoral work in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.  His final ministry was at Villa Maria Academy in Gladstone, New Jersey.  He died on Monday, January 18th, 1982 at the age of 71 and is buried at Daylesford Abbey.
