History:

Originally created at Claymont, Delaware, by confreres from St. Norbert Abbey in DePere, Wisconsin, in 1932 as the site of one of the United States' most prestigious secondary schools, Archmere Academy.  Later, Claymont was associated for some time with Daylesford Abbey.  Since 1997, however, it has been an independent Priory, and still serves Archmere.  In 2004 the Priory was transferred to a new location on Bayview Road in Middletown, Delaware.
