Other Comments: Priory, then abbey founded around 1140.  A conspicuous and wealthy abbey, it was handed over to secular hands in 1803 and made into a castle.  It was reactivated in 1948 for Norbertine Fathers (in 1959 they moved to Hamborn) and in 1950 was also a residence for Norbertine Sisters of the Regular Third Order.  In 1959 the Norbertine Fathers left, changing the seat of their community to Hamborn.  In 2007 the Sisters left, changing the seat of their community to Aulendorf.
