History:

Northeast of Nürnberg, southeast of Bayreuth.  Founded 1145 as a daughter house of the Wilten abbey. Suppressed during the era of the Reformation, it was restored in 1669 as a daughter house of Steingad, but then suppressed again in 1803. In 1921, confreres from Tepl came here, set to work, and reinstituted the ancient abbey on March 24, 1923.
