2 This is a color view of the front of the former Priory Building in Jackson. The Priory was moved to Raymond, Mississippi.
3 The seal of the Priory. The black egyptian "ankh" cross which subdivides the seal is associated with St. Moses and is a symbol of life. At upper left the Fleur de Lis on a blue background suggests the connection to the Order of Canons Regular of Premontre. The watery waves at right suggest both the Mississippi River, near the Priory, but also the Fox River in Wisconsin -- home of the founding Fathers of the Priory from DePere. The black African Acacia tree on the green background represents peace. Finally, the white and black hands clasping in brotherhood on a red background suggests the purpose for which the Priory was founded: outreach to the African- American community and brotherhood between whites and blacks. The colors of black, green and red are used throughout as representative of the colors of the African-American community.
